the show so far....

well, as a few of you may know, the hobo gobbelins were originally called together in the warm season of 2004 by psiliobahn goblegblix & spent a couple of years together raising hell before the time which shall not be made reference to which shall hitherto be sticken from the books. a bit of a fragmentation occurred following this, our founding father ran away to join the carnival, leaving the gobbelins of our home town stomping grounds to languish in dissarray, however the green fire burned deep in the bowels of a few who remained and now we have a suitable combo which plays around the bay untill we gather enough strength & determination to tour. meanwhile, psiliobahn, in alignment with the 999 eyes of dream carnival sidshow of the damned, ended up in austin, tx and formed a group known as "that damned band" which occasionally takes on the guise of hobo gobbelins. with this understood we question, can our two groups co-exist? are we allies or rivals? this remains to be seen, for the two factions have never stood face to face. there was some talk of a duel, however the expensive order of travel has, as of yet, prevented the occurance of said duel. for those of you in the area of austin or the greater south east of the country, seek them by the name of 999 eyes or that damned band. for those of you on the west side, you may seek us through this cyber tribal meeting ground or on the page @ myspace (if you can find it). else wise, we bay area gobbelins are accepting offers for the halloween season, which truly is the gobbelins holiday. make your offer here....

it's official

after a hearty old whiskey soaked pow wow, it was decided to lay this trumped up dispute to rest, our two groups can & do co-exist.
we the torch bearers of the bay area local hobo gobbelin collective bear the green fire with the blessings of our founder. though our sound cannot compare with the original H.G.s, it is what it is and it shall continue. that damned band rules and may well defeat our local krewe in a bonafide duel, they certainly have an awesome album out. however, an important thing to concider is. the majority of the folks in the present hobo gobbelins were also in the previous incarntion and have the percieved right to carry on. as R.S. and others have suggested, we should choose a new name, if so what? a new name=a different identity. I'm open to suggestion but have no good Ideas of my own. some have said we should play different songs if we are to retain the name, but the songs & the songbook are at the root of our krewe, new songs are needed but there is also something to be said for keeping the old favorites in circulation. so, with all of this on the table, I close my statement by asking our esteemed collegue rumple,
"what time does the party start?"
I would like to attend for the early part, though there is a show in the city that I want to see that night.

some say we should change our name if we are to continue the band without the presence of our founder who now heads up the austin based "that damned band" (notably playing many of the same songs). I'm open to suggestions, who's got 'em?

as most of you already know sansa had a accident last weekend.
she broke 2 of her vertebrae C5 and C6 in the base of her neck and broke the disk in between the 2 vertebrae that pushed against her spinal cord. she had surgery to replace the disks and had minor damage to her spinal cord. the surgery went well and sansa is on her way to a full recovery. thats an understatement... sansa is blessed, the angles are smiling down on her. she's in good spirits and soaking up all the healing thoughts and prayers from her loved ones.

Sansa should be getting out of the hospital in 2 days. her parents are with her and will stay with her in tell she is able to fly back to California. she is still having lots of pain and trouble with her arms and hands. we have all the reason to believe she will heal completely with love, support and physical therapy. the best thing you could do is send out your love and healing thoughts for sansa.

i am accepting donations via paypal at wickk23@yahoo.com please attach a note for her, i can get you an address if needed also. thanks for your care and support

4th annual

you are cordially invited to attend
the Cheshire Rock Opera
on the evening of 1-27-2007
this is an annual celebration of
Lewis Carroll, his works &
his effect on popular music.
please attend as one of the
characters from wonderland.
bring tea & cakes to share
& bottles marked "drink me".
a song book & album will be
available to interested parties.
those attending may be asked
for a modest donation:
$5 for those in costume & character
$10 for those simply in costume
& $20 for those who can't
be bothered to dress the part.
the event goes from around 8 untill...

first show was january 27 2004@ Van Kleef's in Oakland.
It was quite a production inluding the queen's concert,
tea party trio, suitcase puppet show of walrus & carpenter
and the jabberwock monstermasks. twas a mad evening
of fun.
the next was a one man show for an intimate audience
of close friends.
it's third year running was the mad tea party with a book
& c.d. to accompany.
the 4th year is set to be in co-operation with
the lucid dream lounge.
this is the culmination of a lifetimes connection to
the writings of Lewis Caroll,
here was my original Idea :I'ts a glam rock opera,
Spacey sci-fi, I like ziggy style, and kabuki japanese
cats, bunraku, noh theatre. this is a description of
a young lewis caroll, in some fanciful asian opium den,
being served and having the hallucination that he
watered down to create alice's adventures in
wonderland. focusing on the bestiary of "Jabberwok"
, the white rabbit, the tea party, and a god-like
presence of the cheshire (cat).
seeking performers, puppet craft, and hosts for
this would bee epic of psychedelic performance art.
follow thee white rabbit...
the set so far
red queen (an original)
white rabbit(+new verses)
the walrus & the carpenter (to music)
I am the walrus (mutant version)
the humpty dump (mix of humpty dance with parts
of eggman & the original poem)
jabberwocky(grunge version)
to all tomorrows parties
the inverse set also features some surprizes from
the collective of songwriters (the likes of the hobo gobbelins,
sourmash hug band & accordion plague)

ttp://Cheshire-rockopera.tribe.net

AT THE START OF THE SHOW:
white rabbit makes an appearance & then takes us
"through the rabbit hole". when we hit the bottom
a red queen appears: I'm bored to tears with the likes
of you! I declare that there shall be a concert to
amuse me & my royal court."
at this point a page begins calling forth the appointed
acts,
***still looking for quick cabaret style performances
(2-3 songs) which can work with a wonderland style

when it comes time for the hatter to sing,
he does so off key & tempo, so badly that the
queen shouts: "stop him! he's murdering time!!!"
and a guard roughly ejects the hatter from the "stage".
perhaps a bit of mumbling as the court complains
of the hatter's ruination of the concert.
focus shifts to the tea party set.
mad hatter: Oh bugger! they've broken my watch!
march hare: let me see that watch hatter.
(smears it with a thick layer of butter)
that should do the trick.
hatter: (shakes watch & listens) nope, it's still broken
now, we'll be stuck in tea time forever.
dormouse: play us a song hatter, to help us pass the time
hatter plays white rabbit....
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

/ F# - / G - / F# - / G - / A CD A - /

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small

When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know

/ E - / A - / E - / A - / F# - - - /

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head, feed your head

/ F# - / G - / F# - / G - / A CD A - / E A E A /

at the conclusion of the song the dormouse says
"feed your head"
hare: what'd he say?
hatter: I don't know, I can't remember.
mouse: feed your head!
hatter: well then, what ever are we to feed it?
hare: I've got an idea, let's feed it treacol
alice: where ever shall we find treacol?
hatter: why, at the bottom of a well, of course
another cup of tea?
alice: but if we were to fall down the well,
however should we get back out again?
hare: we shan't be able to get out, we'd be
stuck down there for the rest of time with
nothing but treacol to eat, pass the crumpets
alice: but if the moon could only see
down in the well, I'm certain she...
mouse:...would be so sad that she would cry
an clouds blot out the starry sky
alice: fill the well up with the rain
so we could get back out again!
hatter:..and float down to a salty sea...
hare: where maybe we could look & see
hatter: a bite of something good to eat
hare: a tasty dish!
hatter & hare together: A FISHY TREAT!!
at this point a mock turtle comes in with
a taureen of hot green soup, followed by a
gryphon.
hatter: I say there, mock turtle what's that
you've got?
mock: it is a most beautiful soup! try some
(ladles some into tiny cups passing some to the party)
hatter:delicious!
as the band strikes up the beautiful soup song
the soup service continues.

Beautiful Soup
c g
Beautiful Soup, so rich and green,
c
Waiting in a hot tureen!
at the end of the song,
hatter asks: I say, mock turtle, did you bring any
lobsters with you?
mock: no, (sadly) but they sent this message
(hands card to hatter)
hatter: (reading from card)
"dear sir
we thank you kindly for your invitation to the
cheshire rock opera, however we are already
engaged to attend the lobster quadrille.
best wishes,
the lobsters"
... ah, the lobster quadrille, what a lovely song
and dance!"
mock: (disagreeably) I always thought it was very sad
hatter: no, I assure you it is a delightful little tune,
listen to the way we play it.
(during the tune mock turtle moves to the dance floor
& a group of alices dance around and with her.
"Will you walk a little faster?" said a whiting to a snail.
g f a
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle - will you come and join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?
"You can really have no notion how delightful it will be
g f a
d
But the snail replied "Too far, too far!" and gave a look askance -
g f a
d
Said he thanked the whiting kindly, but he would not join the dance.
d f d g d
f d g
Would not, could not, would not, could not, would not join the dance.
d f d g d
f d
Would not, could not, would not, could not, could not join the dance.

d f d f d f d f
"What matters it how far we go?" his scaly friend replied.
d
Then turn not pale, beloved snail, but come and join the dance.
d f d g d f
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?"

at the end of the song, mock turtle returns to the
table, with a worried look on his face
mock: that's all well & good, but I don't really undestand
can you play it again?
hatter: but of course
instead they play "the voice of the lobster"
'Tis the Voice of the Lobster
Cm
'Tis the voice of the Lobster: I heard him declare
Fm
"You have baked me too brown, I must sugar my hair."
Cm
As a duck with its eyelids, so he with his nose
D G
Trims his belt and buttons, and turns out his toes.
Cm
When the sands are all dry, he is gay as a lark
Fm
And will talk in contemptuous tones of the Shark:
Cm
But, when the tide rises and sharks are around,
D G ~~~
His voice has a timid and tremulous sound.

I passed by his garden, and marked with one eye,
How the Owl and Panther were sharing a pie:
The Panther took pie-crust, and gravy and meat,
While the Owl had the dish as its share of the treat.
When the pie was all finished, the Owl as a boon,
Was kindly permitted to pocket the spoon:
While the Panther received knife and fork with a growl,
And concluded the banquet by--

on the last note of the song a tuft of feathers is
thrown in the air.
mock: I don't see what the point is of repeating
all this stuff over & over, if you aren't going to
take the time to explain it.
hatter: I tell you what, mock turtle, I've got a box here
which is sure to explain everything.
puts the box on the table & thus is the set up for
walrus & the carpenter
The Walrus and The Carpenter
Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and
What Alice Found There, 1872)
the verses shall be noted as such
first verse noted is v1, & 2nd is v2
thus follows
Em Am
The sun was shining on the sea,
B7 Em
Shining with all his might:
Em Am
He did his very best to make
B7 Em
The billows smooth and bright--
B7 Em
And this was odd, because it was
B7 Em
The middle of the night.

The moon was shining sulkily,
Because she thought the sun
Had got no business to be there
After the day was done--
"It's very rude of him," she said,
"To come and spoil the fun!"
B7 Em
The sea was wet as wet could be,
B7 Em
The sands were dry as dry.
B7 Em
You could not see a cloud, because
B7 Em
No cloud was in the sky:
Em Am
No birds were flying overhead--
B7 Em
There were no birds to fly.
v1
The Walrus and the Carpenter
Were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see
Such quantities of sand:
"If this were only cleared away,"
They said, "it would be grand!"
v2
"If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year.
Do you suppose," the Walrus said,
"That they could get it clear?"
"I doubt it," said the Carpenter,
And shed a bitter tear.
v1
"O Oysters, come and walk with us!"
The Walrus did beseech.
"A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,
Along the briny beach:
We cannot do with more than four,
To give a hand to each."
v2
The eldest Oyster looked at him,
But never a word he said:
The eldest Oyster winked his eye,
And shook his heavy head--
Meaning to say he did not choose
To leave the oyster-bed.
v1
But four young Oysters hurried up,
All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat--
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.
v2
Four other Oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more--
All hopping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.
v1
The Walrus and the Carpenter
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
And waited in a row.
~~~~~~~
v1
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
~~~~~
v1 (or2)
"But wait a bit," the Oysters cried,
"Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!"
"No hurry!" said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.
v1
"A loaf of bread," the Walrus said,
"Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed--
Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed."
v2 (or1)
"But not on us!" the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
"After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!"
"The night is fine," the Walrus said.
"Do you admire the view?
v2 (or1)
"It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!"
The Carpenter said nothing but
"Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf--
I've had to ask you twice!"
v2(or1)
"It seems a shame," the Walrus said,
"To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!"
The Carpenter said nothing but
"The butter's spread too thick!"
v2
"I weep for you," the Walrus said:
"I deeply sympathize."
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.
v1
"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

during the last verses of the song trays of hors devors
(smoked oyster on a slice of french bread with a dash
of pepper & vinegar) are passed around.

& 1mb+ plays humpty song, during which the
jabber wocky creatures head off to get their masks on.
at the end of the song...

humpty: hello every body, since we've been
through the looking glass & back, I can tell before
we get there that you wont be able to understand
these next verses so, I'll do a bit of explaining in

THEE 999 EYES OV ENDLESS DREAM
www.999eyes.com
Lost in time, hidden in the dark corners and in the dusty shelves of old book stores, in the basements of libraries and museums, lies the fabulous, fantastical history of the carnival sideshow - a time when the malformed were glamorized as part of a traveling caravan and not locked up in institutions. A time when there was a place and venue for amazing performers to come together in a gypsy caravan style and change the atmosphere of the town around them - reminding people there is another way of life and relieving people of their daily routines - reminding them of the power of magic and imagination. The roots of radical artistic movements of today are deeply intertwined with the carnival sideshows of the past…
We acknowledge our carnival sideshow roots to empower our communities with alluring, inventive, and fearless displays of imagination and dream! Our carnival sideshow not only provides a place for roving gypsy carnival performers and “human curiosities” to express their art but also provides an environment which revives and highlights the great performers and “freaks” of the past – and their true life stories! Using olde-tyme music, puppets, story telling as well as classic carnival sideshow acts and performance we create a world that taps into profound emotion, reminding the AUDIENCE of the actualization of the living dream. At the same time, this gives the “human curiosities” of the modern age a venue to be appreciated once again - this is our mission.
Our collaborative carnival art troupe is co-created with many fabulous idividuals - musicians, sideshow artists, clowns, writers, experts - each of which works on their routines, props, banners, and costumes in their locale. Each on its own is amazing, and together, we form our carnival ov dreams. We tour selectively, displaying our “History of the FREAKSHOW” museum installation, with a real life modern day freakshow and sideshow for our openings. With all ages kid-themed shows(dream shows) as well as adult-themed “nightmare” performances, our carnival sideshow does well at what we aim to do. We’re recreating the world one carnival at a time – awakening the collective subconscious.
The psyche is never laid so bear as when entering the world ov dream… Our demons and dreamers are assembled in an ever evolving Multi-Form Cabinet containing enough skeletons to squeeze the tears and fears ov even the coldest heart… For we all have dreams, and we all have nightmares… When we enter into the waking dream of beauty and art in life, we realize how real our dreams really are. Staring at our hands, we consider all that they can accomplish, for good or ill. We present our WAKING DREAMS and NIGHTMARES for your perusal… as an actual, real, living, modern day museum ov oddities style freakshow is paraded before your awe-inspired eyes! With a musical background ranging from Old-tyme gypsy jug band to eldritch accordion “eville” puppet madness… all this and more can become available for the entertainment and horror ov THE AUDIENCE, which has the opportunity to sign on the dotted line (in blood) and sell their soul for a glimpse into another world ov phantasmagoric dream!
CORE
www.wearecore.com
Among the founding suspension performers on Earth, up from Los Angeles and Houston for a visit to Cascadia.
"It is our intent to create original and physically demanding works of theatre by blending the practice of modern performance art with ancient rituals of body suspension.
We in CoRE have suspended our own concept of physical limitation, pierced the heart of our fears, and transcended the boundaries of social convention in order to further the understanding of the corporeal and spiritual being. Suspension acts combined with traditional performance art and theatre provide us with a new outlet for artistic expression that enables the audience to join us on our emotional journey. By pushing our own boundaries in life and art, we inspire others to explore their own."

THE ALBERTA CLOWN HOUSE
www.clownhouse.org
A nationally-revered waystation for traveling clown society, led by Dingo Dizmal and Caffeine Enema Jones and featuring at one time or another every punk clown worth his or her salt.

A DICTIONARY OF BLOOD THEATER
"In a sense, there is no true, "real" theatre, only a black Cadillac crushing life and squeezing the heart out of us, one act at a time. It is appropriate then, that we cry, and mourn crushed lives, appropriate to watch as well as to perform. Why puppets? Because, by branch and root, from head to foot, there is not, nor art there be, anything so deep so sad so fun so thought-provoking so shamelessly despised so unrehearsed and prized as the beautiful blank darkness that descends upon you as the flesh is opened to let another story bleed forth.
The first installation of our new show Local man claims to have seen god but can't give an account of what he saw (Decipher that!) opens October 27 and runs throught the next two nights at the Someday lounge in Portland Oregon, moving to other venues down the west coast through October and November. This program deals with the erosion of sanity in the modern world. It is a puppetry program, including live actors and found objects, trash and treasures paraded before you eyes."

LEAPIN' LOUIE LICHTENSTEIN
www.comedytricks.com
Leapin' Louie performs a high energy comedy show featuring cowboy tricks, juggling, acrobatics, music and what-not. He inflames audiences to laughter and wild applause everywhere he plays and that’s a lot of wheres because he has appeared at corporate events, festivals, fairs, schools, etc., in twenty-one different nations.
Say it in one breath for a true feeling of jet lagged exhilaration. Leapin' Louie Lichtenstein has knocked them alive in:
USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Morocco, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan.
Whoa! Take a breath.

AUBREY BIRDWELL
www.somedaylounge.com/perform...irdwell/
Aubrey Birdwell is a prodigous young gypsy accordionist notorious in all corners of Portland. His work with Cicuri Curajul and Mirumir; and his solo work both with traditional and modified accordions; has distinguished him as one of the most skilled and innovative players in this city. He presents the incidental music for this evening, including a mix of traditional romany songs and his own compositions.

Funny I saw you at Burning Man. You even sat in my lap & I fell in love with you guys. Funny you also live in Berkeley. How strange is that? I think I liked the song about Hating Humans the best. I hate them too. They were even fighting in you show & that really made me happy. I think Burning Man was some big orgy for capitalist America to go shake their naked asses & take drugs for a week. It was pathetic. But you people or Gobbelins made my Burn.. hehe.. I want to see you guys play again or buy you some Rum or Whisky or Beer or whatever the fuck your drinkin.. ARRR!! kill the nasty humans!!

the Ghost Tree sessions.

Now that the band is all but dispersed, Mr. gomper hung up his gobbelin mask & Dr. Leopold set up the multi-form cabinet & has produced numerous exports. see http://www.myspace.com/multiformcabinet for examples. !1manBanjo! has been hard at work & is pulling together a quartet to play the contents of the album. So the one known a zombie, clover & wight ov wormcastle have drawn together to play & sing these songs of old & new. thus the bittersweethearts stringo trio material as quartesized by lord calpert, so came around not only songs from the cheshire rock opera but in time, hobo gobbelin songs were played, the gomper slung jazz dragon & sang ov hoggy boggy in an olde country warning, and the hobo gobbelins did howl again. sang in time zombie songs and some I've just written. and now the boggey beat will come into form, as waves, sound patterns to incite a rhythmic discipline, a performance, a processional. a boggey rhythm beaten. untill then the roots ov a ghost tree grow strong & fast in the aether & in the distant wind a strange din can be heard.

The barker reached for his hand & the smile made his blood run cold
Dm Am
One mirror holds your future and the chances you have missed

(Chorus)

And in the end you will pretend to mimic the images opposite you

Hey there. Noah, working on my C.V. for this crazy arts gig.

In so doing, I happened upon an event I curated like three years ago.

One of the many musicians playing at this event was a former goblin, a violinist, short dark hair with glasses, I think her name may have been kathy.

I can never remember her name. She will be angry if she finds out, and yet I come here for assistance.

See the link below - that's her on the far left. WHO IS SHE? You have pics of her on the International Maggot Theater tribe too.

I don't know if there is any plan to practice, or who's in town, but I'd be into a Sunday evening practice. I can't do it tonight, but I feel like whoever's in town should try to get together at least once this week. Sunday during the day I'll be conquering the world, so that should take a few hours.

howdy gobbelins,

it is questionable as to whether or not i can make it to sunday practice. in order to motivate myself into completing my 25 page research paper on the black plague i have made a pact with myself that i can not leave southern california untill it is done. uh wish me luck guys. yikes.
also, i dont have a working washtub at the moment.
and i am getting some work done on my car. . .which obviously may delay my departure as well.

okay well rock out with your sock out. jam out with your spam out. hang out with your thang out, etc. if im lucky ill see you all on sunday, if not, well you can feel confident knowing that i will be wishing that i was there playing with you guys.
luve and misses,
globs
ps. does this font make my butt look big? honestly, you can tell me. i wont be offended. . .

PS Sour Mash overtook the early spot in the park, so latecomers should find their own ride. There is room with Sam and shiri for those who want to leave early.

Santa Cruz First Night Parade of Freaks

Saw y'all in Center Cafe. Tossed beer cans and pillows back acha. We leapt into the DPW mosh. Scared all the sedate burners who expected a mellow accoustic band.

Who wants to have a Santa Cruz DIY New Year's Eve parade of freaks, clowns, gamelan, politics, fire, samba drums, punks, art cars, hippies, marching bands, moms, dads, kids, and music?

After several years of Santa Cruz city-sponsored mediocrity, First Night officially goes belly-up. "Lack of donations douse First Night Santa Cruz" says the Senile: http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/archi...005/September/07/local/stories/01local.htm

Fuck city-sponsored anything anyway. Let's do our own parade. A sorta Reclaim the Streets and New Year's celebration.

We're not asking for permits or permission. We're just gonna do it. We meet somewhere at one end and just march down Pacific. Extra bonus points if we can pull off a swell dance party to rolicking live music on the other end. Who's in?

Don't wait to see who else is involved or whether we will really pull this off. Fuck it. Jump in.

I'll get baked for this for sure but- RuMpLe StIllBoRnE has been working on a Pyro Goblin Puppet Show, Yes ! It's a one shot deal of course and he would like to unleashed it at Mutant Fest ( wherever that is going to be ). He feels the Burning Man humans would not be worthy of such a spectacle. The show would be about 1/2 hour tops. The sound track has already been produced and recorded by myself and another person who shall remain secret. I do need some aspects of the band to do that cover song by Pink Floyd about Gnomes ! This is to be a late night event of course. That is all that can come out of the pot for now...

we all talk a bunch of trash about being anti-human, and all the stuff we're going to do to the little faeries when we get a hold of them. this all crumbles under the scrutiny of the "real world" . we all are dressed in suits of human flesh, though it is the way of the human world which we so despise. we are creatures of the natural world at heart, and our hearts are harbors ov darkness. we may act nicey nicey, but don't doubt the fact that we have nasties that live within. greenskin spirits slime up from the murky bog, foxfire and will o' the wisp. hard facts are that we sit here at our nice little terminals waging a silly gobbelin flame war which I don't take a bit seriously, I only participate to instigate. we all need a little somthing to build a fire under our asses from time to time. being a hobo gobbelin is being in character, even if the green washes off. we can all be as mean and nasty as we want to be, but I am in this krewe for good times. So, don't forget, I have a gobbelin heart in this chest of mine and it will undermine your pompous and arrogant human world with it's black hate and a gruesome gobbelin grin, and to all you "faeries" I will tug on your tail, just to see the fire in your eyes, you are too nice.

The Drop Dead Festival in N.Y.C. is in need of artists for posters & flyers. Seeing as how many of you are artists & into creepy ghouly things I thought someone on this tribe may have something to submit. Send me a message if you're interested. ANYONE is welcome to submit artwork. For obvious reasons they would prefer someone who lives in the N.Y.C. area but I will be in the Bay Area next week & can send copies of art for approval. Have a good day.

I would like a little feedback on what is going on this Summer with de Hobo Gobbelins. June 24-26th is the HOW TO DESTROY THE UNIVERSE FESTIVAL in S.F just around the corner, are we playing that and if so what day ( s )? The 999 eyes of endless dream tribe has dates for the freak show that span from June through August from here in the Bay Area all the way up to Seattle and back down to portland again and even LA LA ALnd ?. How many ov us can do the whole tour ? I know I can't be away that long, as much as I would like to pester humans that much.
What dates can can any one confirm in reguards to this horde of Hobo Gobbelins ? I'd like to play all the June dates and about 1/2 the July ones.

My friend Willow has asked if hg's want to play a solstice party on the 'ranch' in Castro Valley on the 25th. Some of you played some music at a party at her house on MLK awhile back.

Dan said he thinks you have a show that day, but seeing as the ranch party goes from noon on the 25 till noon the next day, you would have plenty of time to show up.

The party will feature an open grill, a full bar (probably cost$) a couple of barns, bonfires, tea shack, and 5 acres to play on. not to mention a few dj's. Bring a tent! Willow was really into bringing in living music to the scene, so it could be hg's or whoever wants to show up and play.

I can give you more details if you request, let me know if you're interested.

I'm billing the Hobo Gobbelins throughout this tour. Butt - how many gobbelins constitutes a horde?
I've generally gone by the following band names with our material:
#Gobbos band name
2 - Duo-Gobbelins
3 - Gargamel trio aka thee Smurf Killahs
4-5 - International Maggotts
6 +hgs...?
are y'all generally fine with this, or should i call the group something else when we play? 'Cause it seems like most ov this tour is only gonna be a few o the main crew...
For most of the tour (ie July) i see myself playing with the following folks: Zombiegoblin Dan, Jura Killenme, HP Gobbelcroft, Mean Dean Gobbelin, Sam X, Flogoflin Slaveslap, Catskin Liquor, Decimal, ...?
with intermittant additions from: RP Stillborne, Dead Ben, Blob Globs, Mr Gomper, Bubu Tuba, ...?
Does this sound right?
...Input please...

I'm feeling the pinch of time as far as the play goes. Lately I'm wondering whether this play will be ready to go by the end of June. There's still so much to do in terms of costumes and set design, and that is leaving out the fact that it's really difficult to even get a rehearsal together.

Maybe I'm just felling glum because I don't really have any other performance projects I can just do by myself, and I've been depending on people who have a million other cauldrons bubbling with other exciting projects. I think my plans perhaps solidified too late in the game.

At the rate of one practice a week, we have 5 practices left before the end of June. Does anyone think we can get it together by then? I'd be interested in hearing honest assessments from y'all.

I'll tell you what: I'm bringing $60 to the next play rehearsal Sunday afternoon. It will be divided up among the people who show up.

Just to be explicit - JUNE 18th gig!

Don't Forget my comrades wedding on June 18th! The reception is sure to be outrageous with 20 or so gallon sof plague water! Music is also requested. I will be playing for the ceremony as well, then at the reception. It has been requested to play some less evil music for this event, which is certainly in the hg repetoire, but i'll underatand if y'all want to stick to funerals and batmitzfahs.
I'd love if hgs, one man banjo, and bittersweet xtet would help me with the music for this event.
Jim Burr is getting hitched, for those who don't know, and is my comrade and friend at Nabolom who's poured a lot of his life energy into keeping the place afloat - also works with sugetsukan - an anarchist dojo- Anarchy magazine, and more cool projects besides. We could probably do a late might evil set at the reception too.
The reception will be at the Humanist Hall June 18th all night, all the plague water we can drink, and food everything from vegan to carnivore.
We can put out the hat, too!
I'll have to RSVP about the food situation, so those whoi are in for this one, please reply a message asap...

BORG@ grant funds our summer tour! Vote Now

Borg2 art grant voting now in progress. If you signed up for the borg2 mailing list, you can now vote for the 999 eyes carnival / Hobo Gobbelins tour to get $$$$ to make our show stupendous!!! Just follow the instructions below. Oh, and if you want to improve our chances with your vote, look at the VOTING RESULTS first, and don't vote for any project that is ahead ov us in votes - i mistakenly voted for my friends projects, scince you get more than one vote.... good for them though, they are ahead of the game. Bad for us, we are not as of right now when i'm writing this. Now for the instructions (you shoulkd have all this in yr email box if you signed up):

Voting: if you're registered and you know it clap your hands. Now obey
the following instructions from Election Central:

Here's how you vote:

1) Go here first:

www.aumond.com/confirm.html

Enter your e-mail as it appears in the BORG2 mailing list, legal name,
date of birth, address and telephone and you will be e-mailed your
password at the e-mail address that you used to register for the BORG2
e-mail list. The e-mail will have the subject line "Your BORG2
Demagogue password". If you can't find it, try looking in your spam
folder.

2) With your e-mail and password go here

www.aumond.com/login.html

enter your e-mail and password.

3) Click on the "vote" link on the BORG2 Art Grant election

4) You can vote for as many projects as you like as long as the sum of
the budgets of the projects you selected does not exceed $20,000. You
will see the project budgets in the righ column in the ballot. It's a
big ballot and a busy page, so make sure you vote for who you wanted and
that you are not exceeding your budget limit. Once you cast your vote,
you can't change it. If you exceed your budget, you will be asked to
go back and take some projects off your ballot until you are below the
$20,000 limit.

5) You are done!

6) Results can be viewed by anyone, even if you are not registered to
vote, in real-time (updated every 2 minutes) here:
Last Day to Register for BORG2 Vote

From the Desk of Noah Mickens, Ringmaster:

Friends of Societas Insomnia and 999 Eyes Ov Endless Dream,
today is your last chance to register to vote for this year's BORG2
Grant.

And this, in turn, will allow you to vote for our cirkus to receive this
grant.

Which will, in turn, put us in the running for as much as $5000 in
tender succulent grant money for our Burning Man show.

And of course, being as Thee Hobo Gobbelins are a part of our cirkus, our cirkus is also your cirkus.

See instructions below, and thank youl.

5000. - N.

The BORG2 Bullhorn (B2B): Extra, 5/31/05
-=================================================
=======-

VOTING REGISTRATION DEADLINE LOOMS

A quick reminder. Register by midnight TONIGHT (May 31st,
2005) to
participate in BORG2's upcoming art grant elections. If you're
getting
this note in your email, and the sending address is
<frankenspock at
yepmail.net>, you're ALREADY REGISTERED. No further action
is
necessary, and you will be sent further instructions when it
comes time
to actually vote (June 2-4).

If you're reading this some other way -- on a website, post in
tribe.net, excerpted in someone else's email -- you need to
register by
midnight tonight in order to participate.

To sign up for the mailing list, follow these easy steps

- Sign up here: http://saucer.spaceship.com/mailman/listinfo/bep

- You will receive a confirmation email at the address you used
to
subscribe to the mailing list

- Click on the link in the message. Follow the insructions on the
page
to confirm your subscription

Only after confirming your subscription will you be in the BORG2
mailing list. Once you start receiving the Bullhorn, you are done.

And now, a FAQ-in-miniature from the loquacious Kiko Amound:

-Why do I need to sign up for the mailing list in order to vote?

Two reasons, the most important of which is that we believe in
informed
voters; informed voters get (and hopefully read) the Bullhorn and
know
what's going on instead of just parachuting into the election and
voting for whoever their friend/lover/neighbor/dealer/pet told them
to
vote for. The second reason is that we use the list for
authenticating
voters.

-I joined the list but never received the list confirmation e-mail.
What do I do?

Check the e-mail you used for signing up for the mailing list.
Make
sure it is not being forwarded somewhere else. Also, check your
spam
folder, the confirmation e-mail could be there.

-I receive the Bullhorn but don't get any e-mail. How come?

Do you receive the Bullhorn through Tribe or E-mail? You need to
be in
the E-MAIL LIST, not Tribe. Also, check your spam folder for
messages
from "Frankenstein Jones" containing the title "BORG2 Bullhorn"

Any further questions, please direct them to the email address
below.

-------------------------

Questions? Complaints? Unsolicited manuscripts? Push the
button and
TALK LOUDLY: Frankenstein Jones at
(b2bullhorn@fastmail.fm).

Got an event coming up or an announcement to make? Send
them in. We
can't guarantee everything submitted will appear in an issue of
the
b2b, however we will make every effort to accommodate your
sincere
desire to yell at the general public. PLEASE SEND ME
INFORMATION. I
can't do this without the people who read the thing.

You can also sign up for the tribe.net thingy at
http://BORG2.tribe.net, where we talk about all sorts of stuff
related
to BORG2. This is probably the quickest way to receive
information and
inform others on topics related to BORG2.

"Please get me off this list as quickly as possible."

Ejection seat button:
http://saucer.spaceship.com/mailman/listinfo/bep

Go down the page until you see the part that begins with "To
unsubscribe". Enter your email address and that should
effectively get
you out of the loop. You will no longer be eligible to take part in
future BORG2 votes after you take this step, although you are
welcome
to re-subscribe at any time.

Hey all! Just to let you all know, I'm going to have to bring in more people to fill out the cast of the play. Everyone but Megloo played 2 parts at last practice, which is great at first but for the real thing will just be impossible. Let me know if you have a kindred spirit or two to suggest.

Here's the problem: they have to be willing and able to come to practice, with some amount of artistic talent, as well as being able to get along with all of us and also willing to go on tour all summer. Kinda narrows it down, eh?

So I'm thinking people who are already planning on going on the festival circuit, maybe already carnies. I dunno. Any suggestions?

New Direction?

I am so inspired by watching the yard dogs road show, they are an icon to the vaudeville jug band. we could learn a few things from their example. Ov course, I saw the show thru a gobbelin filter, yet I can see how similar concepts and methods could apply to what we've already established, how ever they do have a few up on us, foremost of which is the abitity to love their audience which we profess to hate for their humanity. but aside from that we come from such a similar back ground that it is safe to say that we can take a few tips from them. a gobbelin burleque perhaps, sided show vignettes, carnival huxters, snake oil, slight ov hand, expansion and subgroupings, costume changes, theatrics.
another source for inspiration which I have never been able to deny is crash worship. this muse is my channle for thee boggey beat (h.g.s percussion & nobile noise). like wise, audience plants who sneak up on audience members with frightening techniques to keep them on their toes ( hence a hightening ov thee senses ).
all ov this to build on what we already have. limiting the number ov stage musicians to what we already have ( as we already face issues over lack ov mics & lines ).
a throw back to old directions is to bring back set lists which tell a story thru lyrics, titles & imagery. bring back gobbelin cards. think about an ultimate set which can be fine tuned to various spaces & time limits. stretch the format & nail it down, work it out, make something really well thought out, ingenius & cool.

1952 diesel/biodiesel tour bus for sale

I am SOOOO sad to be selling this 1952 GMC tourbus, but you are going to love it! It has been owned and maintained by Green Tortoise for the past 25 years (besides the 1 year I've had it). It has a newly rebuilt Detroit Diesel "inline 671" engine that really runs great. It is a 4 speed transmission that you need to know how to double clutch (i can teach you). The body is in pretty good shape, and the interior has a very spacious lay out. The pictures don't do it justice. There are 2 tables that fold into beds, and a seprate bedroom in the rear. The bus is Biodiesel ready. There are a few cracked windows that can be replaced cheaply. I need to sell it ASAP so make me a reasonable offer. I'd like to get $5000. Feel free to call or Email with any questions. -jeremy

MR GOBLEGBLIX has come down with an unfortunate strain of abyssal brain worms and will most likely be unable to record, or do much else this wednesday(seriously, i'm having trouble walking). Perhaps he will be able to play friday at the gathering of evil mutants. Let us all curse these wretched brain worms for befouling our fellow goblins head!

in the yonder forrest
where the bears are buggy
dead unicorns & crimson bulls
will dance the hully gully
&there's a dance the gobbelins do
in the moonlight foggy
a flash ov deadly daggers
that they call the hoggey boggey

dance the hoggey boggey
in the moonlight foggy
tho yer boots are soggy
and you reek jus like a dog
dance you dog-gone-dog
god damned devils' leap frog
demon dancing donkeys
will dance the hoggey boggey

(chorus)
hoggey boggey hoggey boggey hoggey boggey hoggey
boggey hoggey boggey hoggey boggey HOGGEY BOGGEY!!

once a king went walking
in the midnight darkness
younder thru a stand of trees
drew him till he harkened this
he a spy'd a mushroom ring
thru a circle in the stone
and a flash of deadly daggers
drawn from scabbards
made of bone

once there was a merchant
in a shining tower
he controlled the land below
with a mighty power
till the hoggey boggies
crept up from below
and robbed his pretty pockets
ov their gold
where did it go?!?

it went...(chorus)

once there was a miser
on a hollow hill
spent his time & money
making moonshine in a still
till troglodytes & knockers
moved in for the kill
if the boogy man don't get you
then the hobo gobbelins will

(chorus x2 then end)
